Laura, aka Nanny, was a simple woman. She was a caregiver. It wasn’t just a job to her. It was a way of life. It was who she was. Always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need in any way she could. No one ever left her home feeling unloved, hungry, or cold. After losing her husband of 37 years and children all grown, Mama started traveling across the country with her cousin. When her wanderlust was satisfied, she came home and made the most of her life that anyone could want. Many happy memories were created camping at Lake Lurleen. Playing dominos, fishing, and chatting over the campfire are some of the bests. Her love of live music and dancing brought many friends and funny stories that still bring roaring laughter to many. And chasing that one-armed bandit with cherished family was something she was always excited to do. Unless it was football Saturday, then you would find her planted in front of the TV surrounded by friends and family yelling “Roll Tide” louder than anyone ever did. Mama’s love of people and infectious spirit will be greatly missed by everyone who was ever lucky enough to come into her life. She leaves behind an amazing legacy of caring and love…But Lord, don’t make her mad.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dorman Bigham; sons, Thomas Stanley Bigham and Jimmy Ray Bigham; beloved daughter-in-law, Nancy Garrison Bigham; and grandchildren, Stevie Cheyenne Harris and Thomas Jose (JT) Bigham.
