A Glory Service, to celebrate her life, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 28, at Valley View Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, AL. Dignified and professional care has been entrusted to Northport Funeral & Cremation Service Professional Team. Wanda was born July 8, 1955 to Lawrence and Bernadine Humphrey, and grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a graduate of Xavier University, and Loyola University, and enjoyed a successful career as a Medical Technologist and an Educator. She delighted in scrapbooking, bird watching, walking in marathons, and serving in church. The greatest way to describe Wanda would be to say that she was a worshiper, prayer warrior, neighbor, friend, wife, mom, church worker, and the one who always said "I love you more. Wanda was preceded in leaving earth by her parents Lawrence Sonny Humphrey, Sr. and Bernadine Humphrey, and sister Denette H. Mills. Those left to cherish her incredible memory are her loving husband Willie Johnson III, children Danielle J. Kimbrough (Kevin), Dante', and Daniel, brothers Byron (Paulette) and Errol (Trishena), godchild Ayanna H. Paige (Gerald), and a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.
