Northport Funeral & Cremation Service family extends our warmest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family of Mrs. Mary Ruth Smith.
Ruth, 77, passed away at home on Sunday, September 20, 2020. She is survived by her husband, Louie "Buster" Smith, and her daughters, Lisa Price and Karen Barr. She is also survived by her granddaughters: Lani Elmore (Jason), Katye McDill (Josh), and Braxton Barr; great-granddaughters, Ella Grace Elmore and Lillian McDill; three brothers: Woodford Lesley, John Lesley, and Joe Lesley; two sisters, Nell Mills and Faye Patrick; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ruth's heart was bigger than the setting sun. Nothing gave her more satisfaction than to put in a hard days work, while giving all of herself and whatever she had to anyone and everyone. She was always so thoughtful and talented. Her mind was always on others; their problems, their circumstances and their struggles and what she could do to make their lives better.
She was the glue that held the family together. Her loss will be felt by all who knew her. The family takes solace in knowing she is with our Lord and her daughter, Tammy, and that she is no longer suffering in her Earthly body.
A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
Compassionate, sympathetic, and professional service has been entrusted to the hands and care of the Northport Funeral & Cremation Service Professional Team.
