A small service of family and friends will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2017, at The Key Place, 14581 Renfroe Drive, Northport AL 35475. Survivors include her children, Nancy Woods (Jerry), Deborah Smith, Mark Wilkerson; grandchildren, Laura, Amanda, Sarah, Jennifer, Julie, Ashley, Ryan, Sean; and numerous great grandchildren. Lorraine was born on February 2, 1934, in Bay Shore, Michigan. In August 1942, she met her husband Don in Detroit Michigan. They were married on October 23, 1954, and celebrated nearly 61 years of marriage before his passing. She was a loving and devoted wife, as well as a gracious and good loving mother to her four children. She believed in, loved and accepted god into her heart and life. One of her favorite scriptures was Corinthians 13:13: And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. She would always give you a warm smile, had a good sense of humor, and like getting the last words in like Love you more. She also loved little sayings like Love you to the moon and back. Your mother lives on in you. She lovingly nurtured you when you were small and guided you as you grew. Her attitudes, values, hopes, and dreams became part of you. And though she is gone, her love for you remains, and always will your mother lives on within your heart and her spirit guides you still. A special thank you to the staff at Forest Manor Nursing Home for the kindness and care that was given to our mother. We are requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity concerning Dementia and Alzheimer support or a senior support organization. Dignified and professional care has been entrusted to Northport Funeral & Cremation Service Professional Team.
