Mr. William Bundrum

William Alton Bundrum, age 67, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on June 4, 2018 at Hospice of West Alabama. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church Chapel in Tuscaloosa, Alabama with Jack Humphries officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the service. Alton is survived by his wife, Joanna Holston Bundrum; devoted sisters, Peggy Grammer and Dawn Haapoja (and their families); sisters, Brandi Rea and Viki Nichols (and her family); Mark and Gail Metcalf; goddaughters, Kasie Metcalf Kavanaugh and Laura Metcalf Brossard; godson, Jonathan Holston and a host of other special friends and family. Alton was preceded in death by his parents, W. A. and Louise Bundrum; sister, Janie Nichols; beloved cousin, Larry Whitt; and grandparents. Alton was a wonderful husband, son, brother, godfather, uncle and friend. He never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. He had an enormous zest for life and lived each day to the fullest. Alton was happiest surrounded by friends and family. His life was particularly enriched by the time he spent on the golf course with his many golf buddies. Alton faced his battle with pancreatic cancer with courage and dignity. We celebrate that he is now pain free and in the arms of Jesus. Joanna wishes to thank all who supported him through his journey. Special thanks to those who traveled with Alton for treatment in Houston: Philip Gilliland, Bruce Lee, Bill Glass, Mark Metcalf, Peggy Grammer and Gail Metcalf. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to DCH Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center and Hospice of West Alabama.
