Gary Raymond Blake “Smiley”, age 40, passed away on August 12, 2021 at his home in Coker, Alabama. He was born on December 19, 1980.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Collins.
He is Survived by his Mama “Cricket” Anna Vickers (Steve) and his Daddy, Michael Blake (Rhonda), his sisters April Champion (Andy) and Brandy Vickers (Chad), his brother Jamie Vickers (Jesica) and many nieces and nephews.
Gary fought a lifelong battle with diabetes. Our family finds comfort in knowing he is now with the Lord, who has healed his body and restored his sight. He will no longer need lengthy hospital stays or dialysis treatments. Our family is certain, Gary is using his restored vision for his first of many fishing trips with Jesus.
A celebration of life service will be held by Pastor Woody Jones at Coker United Methodist Church in Coker Alabama on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
Honorary Pallbearers include: Annette Choat, Coker Volunteer Fire Department, Wendy Lee and the staff of Rebirth Transportation, Doctors and staff of Divita Dialysis in Northport, Dr. Julia Boothe and staff of Pickens County Primary Care and Amedisys Hospice of Tuscaloosa.
