Mr. Charles Lee Bunn

Age 52
Northport Funeral & Cremation Service announces with deepest sympathy the passing of Mr. Charles Lee Bunn of Tuscaloosa, AL on Friday, July 15, 2016 in Tuscaloosa, AL. Services will be private. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Thelma Bunn; brother, Tim Bunn; aunts and uncles; nephew, James Bunn; grandparents; and many, many friends. Survivors include his wife, Stacy A. Hewitt Bunn daughters, Amber and Anna Bunn; brother, Louis Bunn of Birmingham; aunts, Barbara Jacobs and Bette Terry; many cousins; his "other" mom, Donna Coussement; stepson, Zachery Hewitt; sister-in-law, Dana Johnson (Scott); special friend, Jeanne Johnson; and very special relative and best friend, Donnie Simpson. Chuck was an avid Alabama fan. He said, "He cut his teeth on Bear Bryant Football." He had a memory of games way back in the 60's and 70's. Chuck would have wanted everyone to know that for 28 years he was a recovering alcoholic, through God's grace and the 12 step program, he was able to not only stay sober but to help many on the same journey. Chuck was a gifted counselor and storyteller to many who were blessed to cross his path. He never met a stranger and was available night and day. He was a very rare and special person loved Jesus and had a great faith. As Chuck would quote from Popeye, "I'am what I'am and that's all that I'am!" Rest sweet soul. Honorary pallbearers are nurses and staff of Hospice of West Alabama who gave great comfort in the last weeks of Chuck's life. Dignified and professional service entrusted to Northport Funeral & Cremation Service.
