Jimmy Perry

Age 69

Northport Funeral & Cremation Service family extends our warmest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family of Mr. Jimmy Perry. Mr. Perry passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Jimmy Randall Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Franklin Perry and Genell Falls Perry; his wife, Cathy Perry; his sister, Sharon Perry; and his nephew Lathen Box.

Jimmy is survived by his sons, Keven Perry (Mulisha) and Shawn Vickers (Lori); his granddaughters, Madison Norman, Skyler Norman, Breanna Johnson (James), Meliea Morrison, and Alexis Walton (DJ); his grandsons, Gabriel and Jacob Vickers; and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Frankie Perry (Kathy), Larry Perry (Wendy), and Steve Perry (Rhonda); his sisters, Teresa Perry (Frank) and Martha Perry Booth (David); numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members as well as many lifelong friends, including those from his days working as a Millwright.

To know Jimmy was to love him. He was truly one of a kind—a hardworking man who encouraged those around him to put in the same effort. Many would agree that his favorite role was being the “Boss”. Known for his frugality, Jimmy always found creative solutions, often “Jimmy Rigging” something instead of buying new.

One of his favorite pastimes was sitting around a wood-burning heater, chatting and enjoying the company of friends and family. He brought laughter and love to every gathering and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

As much as we’d love to say to him what he always told us - “there’s no rush”—we know he was tired and ready for rest. We hold on to the hope of seeing him again someday.

Jimmy’s legacy of love, laughter, and determination will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
