Northport Funeral & Cremation Service family extends our warmest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family of Mr. Charlie Thomas Cook, Jr.. Mr. Cook passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL. A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, Tuscaloosa, AL on Jan. 6, 2023 at 11:00 am.

Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Thomas (Elizabeth) Cook, Sr. of Anniston, Alabama.  

He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Huffman Cook, son Charlie Thomas Cook, III (Kellie), grandchildren: William Thomas Cook (Cheyenne), Catherine Torie Kitchens (Caleb), and Elizabeth Gray Cook (Tristan) and great-grandchildren Ethan, Jaishonna, Emery, Keira, Wylin, and Sloane; his sister Sara Elizabeth Cook Semmes (Thomas) and his brother Edward Cook (Julia); and loving nephews and nieces.


Following employment in store retailing and tire manufacturing, Mr. Cook served in various academic, administrative, and technical positions at The University of West Alabama until his retirement. He was a long-time online business instructor for Shelton State Community College. He authored business textbook supplementals for major publishers for two decades.

Mr. Cook earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Alabama. He was an Eagle Scout. He attended Christ Episcopal Church and was a member of the Apollo and the Executive social clubs.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of West Alabama in Mr. Cook's honor.

Compassionate, sympathetic, and professional service has been entrusted to the hands and care of the Northport Funeral & Cremation Service Professional Team.
